Documentation center

The documentation centre of the Fondation de la Mémoire contemporaine is accessible, by appointment, to anyone conducting specialised research.

The following can be consulted at the documentation centre:

• The library of books and specialised journals, enriched by a constant documentary watch.
• The photo library, which brings together iconographic documents provided by witnesses that the Foundation meets.
• Biographical files on personalities of the Belgian Jewish community.
• The Places of Memory database, which lists and describes the places where the Jewish memory of Belgium is particularly present.
• The Intertitres platform, which provides access to Jewish periodicals from Belgium (La Centrale, Regards, Points Critiques, etc.). The platform is accessible on-site and will soon be made available online.
• The archives, the main one being the oral archives composed of interviews (and their transcription) carried out or collected by the Foundation, subject to the conditions set by the witnesses. The interviews are partially available online.
