« Le Triangle à Anderlecht : Mémoires juives d’un quartier »

Albert Aniel, ho grew up in the neighbourhood, set out to find traces of the Triangle's heyday. He patiently recorded the testimony of former and new shopkeepers and residents, and photographed the few remaining vestiges.

The Fondation de la Mémoire contemporaine and the Auschwitz Foundation have joined the project by compiling this book. They laid the historical markers and added other eyewitness accounts, thus documenting local Jewish life over more than a century. The illustrations bring a whole world back to life: photos of workshops, old advertisements, shop bills, family photos, etc.

The book is therefore at the crossroads of genres, combining scholarly discourse, the personal experience, archives and photographs.
