Le Triangle à Anderlecht. Mémoires juives d'un quartier
Albert Aniel, Barbara Dickschen, Alain Mihály, Sophie Milquet, Sarah Timperman, Yannik van Praag, Le Triangle à Anderlecht : Mémoires juives d’un quartier, FMC, Bruxelles, 2024, 183 p. , ill. , 978-464-94902-5
Albert Aniel, a former child of the district, set out to find memories of the Triangle's heyday. He patiently recorded the words of old and new shopkeepers and residents, and photographed the few remaining traces.
The Fondation de la Mémoire contemporaine and the Auschwitz Foundation have joined the project by writing this book. They laid the historical foundations and added other testimonies, documenting local Jewish life over more than a century. The editorial team has also gathered together iconographic documents that bring a whole world back to life: photos of workshops, old advertisements, shop bills, family photos, etc.
The book is therefore at the crossroads of genres, combining scholarly discourse, the spoken word, archives and photographs.
